Costao, which has released today on Zee5, is inspired by a real-life person. There's little focus on action and mostly focuses on what an honest officer goes through when he's challenged by the system. The way he and his family go through hell makes for an interesting watch. However, the film suffers due to its slow narrative and majorly because of the climax. Though the ending is unexpected, it is also sudden and no explanation is given for the turn of events. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as always, delivers a supreme performance while Priya Bapat gives a worthy performance. Kishore Kumar G (D'Mello) is dependable. Hussain Dalal (Peter), Gagan Dev Riar (CBI officer Narang) and Shravan Fondekar (informer) leave a huge mark in small roles. All in all, Costao is an average film. If the climax was better, it would have made for a compelling watch.
My rating - ** ½ out of 5!
