KESARI CHAPTER 2 saw a little jump on Tuesday due to the discounted rates as it collected almost 5 crore nett. The film has a total of 38 crore nett over its five days which is on the lower side but the film has a good trend in the bigger multiplexes to collect well in the second week. It should show a strong hold in terms of the drop in week two even allowing for the shortened week with RAID 2 coming a day early.

The film is actually doing well especially considering the worth of the film in terms of reach and the track record of Akshay Kumar in films of this zone recently which have not even reached this mark in lifetime business. The issue becomes a film with a star always has expectations even if the potential is limited. On top of it, this film got a lot of praise in Mumbai be it the press, trade or industry and this circle starts expecting a big hit.

But the box office does not work that way as there is a different audience out there compared to Mumbai industry circles and for them, there will be issues in the film. Many will not even give it watch due to it being towards the niche side. This is reflected in initial numbers outside the metros. The film will face a drop on Wednesday post discounted rates but it will run well from its Wednesday level.

The Monday and Tuesday numbers are pretty much similar to the fair value day number of day one and it shows that the film is holding. The week is looking at a 45 crore nett total and it will be about the second week and the film should be targeting an under 50% fall. If it happens, then it can come out with a decent final total for the genre of the film. But as the industry became very positive on the film, it may not see it that way but that's a problem of judgement on the content for the film.

KESARI CHAPTER 2 continued its steady run on Wednesday as it collected almost 3.75 crore nett. Taking the actual value of Friday of around 5 crore nett without the holiday factor, this collection is only under 30% down on Wednesday which is a good trend. Basically it is holding well at these levels. The first week collections of the film will be around 45 crore nett and the second weekend is crucial especially the jump in business on Saturday as it will be Saturday and Sunday where the film can add well to its total.
