Agli chutti Kashmir mein hi hogi: Suniel Shetty

HINDUSTAN TIMES (April 27, 2025)

Days after the terror attack in Pahalgam, actor Suniel Shetty has called on citizens to plan their next vacations in the Kashmir Valley as a mark of unity. He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2025 ceremony.

Suniel asked people not to fall into the trap of hatred and fear, saying, “Right now, we need to stay united as Indians. Unko dikhana hai ki Kashmir humara tha, humara hai, aur humesha humara hi rahega. That’s why the Army, the leaders, and everyone are involved in this effort.”

The 63-year-old also urged citizens to take a stand through tourism. “Humein yeh decide karna hai ki aaj se agli chutti jo humaari hogi, woh Kashmir mein hi hogi aur kahin nahin hogi. Unko yeh dikhana hai ki humein darr nahin hai, aur wakayi mein darr hai nahin,” he said.

The actor personally reached out to authorities, wanting to travel to the union territory both as a tourist and an artiste: “Maine khud saamne se phone kar ke bola hai ki agar kal aapko lagta hai ki humein wahan aana hain, tourist ke haisiyat se ya shooting karne ke liye, hum zaroor aayenge. Jo Kashmiri bacche hai, unme unki koi galti nahin hai.”
