(Crisp) Movie Review: PADDINGTON IN PERU by FENIL SETA

Paddington In Peru, just like the two earlier parts, has its share of sweet and cute moments. There's a bit of an Indiana Jones-style treatment this time and the introduction of some quirky characters adds to the madness. The climax is lovely. On the flipside, the film drags in the middle. A few characters are there for the heck of it and don't have much to do. Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton do a great job voicing Paddington and Aunt Lucy respectively. Antonio Banderas, as expected, is entertaining while Olivia Colman (Reverend Mother) leaves a very huge mark followed by Julie Walters (Mrs Bird) and Carla Tous (Gina). Hugh Bonneville (Henry Brown) and Emily Mortimer (Mary Brown) are decent. Madeleine Harris (Judy), Samuel Joslin (Jonathan) and Jim Broadbent (Gruber) are wasted. All in all, Paddington In Peru makes for a nice watch, especially if you have seen the earlier two parts.
My rating - *** ½ out of 5!
