​For years, talk of a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna (1994) has surfaced time and again. And each time, the response has been a familiar mix of “dekhte hain” and “kaam chal raha hai.”

Recently when Aamir Khan was yet again asked about the possibility of a sequel, the actor shared an update, repeating the usual, “Hum sab yehi chahte hain.” But he added that he and Salman will be onboard if they like the script. “Raj ji (director Rajkumar Santoshi) uski script pe abhi kaam kar rahe hain. Salman aur mujhe dono ko pasand aayi toh definitely karenge hum log,” Aamir said.

The family of the film’s late producer Vinay Sinha has now confirmed that serious discussions are ongoing. The producers, Namrata, Priti Sinha and Amod Sinha, shared that they are keen to take the legacy of the film forward. “Recently, Aamir bhai mentioned that Salman sir and he are keen on doing the Andaz Apna Apna sequel. We are thrilled that they both are excited, and in light of this, we will start talks with them right after the re release of Andaz Apna Apna on April 25,” they said.

“Talks with Rajkumar Santoshi ji have been ongoing for years. It also includes (those) during our father producer Vinay Kumar Sinha’s lifetime. However, nothing concrete has been finalized with him till now. We will make an official announcement under as soon as discussions with the actors and director are complete and a strong script is locked,” they added.
