February 14, a day celebrated by couples worldwide, became even more special for actor Prateik Patil Babbar and Priya Banerjee as they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony held at Prateik’s late mother, actor Smita Patil’s home.

“We wanted a ghar ki shaadi, and getting married to the love of my life here — the first house my mum bought and my home — was the best way to honour her in spirit,” Prateik told Vogue.

But his stepbrother, Aarya Babbar, son of actor-politician Raj Babbar and theatre personality Nadira Babbar, shared that the exclusion of family from the wedding left him heartbroken. “For the past few months, Prateik has decided to not answer anyone’s calls. It is hurtful,” he tells us, adding, “Hamari maa Nadira ne poori zindagi parivaar ko jodke rakha, unko nahi bulaya for whatever reason... but uss insaan ko toh bulana chahiye jisko Smita maa ne itna pyaar kiya — his dad.”
