The past couple of years have not been easy for Gurucharan Singh. He was untraceable for over a month last year after which he returned home and had said that he needed to take a break. A few weeks ago he was hospitalised and his condition deteriorated, but he managed to recover. The actor, best known for playing Roshan Singh Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, wants to get back to work now.
Talking about his health, he shared, “I used to primarily be on a liquid diet and that took a toll on my health. But with God’s grace, I’m feeling better now. I’m a lot more spiritually inclined today, but along with my spiritual growth, I have to also focus on my day-to-day life. I want to get back to acting; I need work right now to keep my kitchen running and take care of my parents. I also have a few debts that I need to settle.”
In this difficult period, Gurucharan has received emotional support from his dear ones. “My family has been with me, my friend Bhakti has been very supportive and I’m also thankful to my other friends, who are there for me.”
When asked if he regrets quitting Taarak Mehta? He says, "I don’t regret leaving Taarak Mehta... Things happen for a reason, but the show will always remain close to my heart. Now I’m looking to get back to work."
