CHHAAVA set a record for the highest second Saturday of all time as it edged past the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE number for its second Saturday. It becomes the second film to cross the 40 crore nett mark on its second Saturday. The collections were a huge 41.50 crore nett and now it remains to be seen if the unthinkable can happen and if it can collect 50 crore nett on its second Sunday. This has never happened before in history of Hindi cinema.

The overall total of the film stands at 270 crore nett apprx; this means it has crossed the numbers of TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR which was another film where business was dominated by Mumbai circuit and more specifically Maharashtra. The second of weekend CHHAAVA has seen better ratios in other parts of the country.

On Friday, the business was pretty flat in Maharashtra while the growth was coming from other circuits especially North India. There is a political support for the film from the ruling party which was helping collections in Maharashtra but now this has spread into other areas. The second weekend could be a record depending on how Sunday goes.
