BADASS RAVI KUMAR had a decent first day as it collected around 2.25 crore nett on its first day helped by collections in ceratin mass pockets especially in Mumbai circuit. The film opened better and it looked like a near 3 crore nett number in the morning. But it had to settle for less as the film did not really push post the afternoon.

Still, its a solid number as its a small budget film and has managed to get a decent audience into the theatres for the size of the film in this tough scenario today. The issue may well be to go on from here as you have an audience in the metros watching it as a spoof and comedy. They are taking the film for as it is but the mass audience is coming for a masala film and then not taking well to it being a spoof type of film.

LOVEYAPA collected under 1 crore nett on day with collections in the the 75 lakhs nett range and this collection has come up with a pick up in collections post the morning shows as in the morning it looked like 50 lakhs nett will be struggle. This means the film will improve today but where do you go from such a bad start.

The film had a huge marketing campaign which has yielded no results and just pushed the costs up of the film. BADASS RAVI KUMAR had limited marketing but got better results as its units held interest with its target audience.

LOVEYAPA is a remake of a Tamil film and that may have some affect but its hard to tell if the original Tamil film reached this niche urban audience.
