EMERGENCY had a poor first week as it collected 12 crore nett plus in week one and struggled in the weekdays after a low weekend. The story of these films is about the weekdays and EMERGENCY could not really survive. The numbers from Mon - Thu had to be much stronger and closer to the first day.

The film is basically a period film based around the emergency of 1975 and that itself will limit the audience especially in the box office scenario today.

AZAAD was worse than EMERGENCY and only collected 5.50 crore nett despite a guest role by Ajay Devgn. Films around animals have to cater to masses but the treatment here was such that it was never likely to happen.
