PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) saw a fantastic hold on Monday as it collected 41.50 crore nett which is just 22% down from the Friday. The Monday is a record when a film has had a normal release before the weekend as no film has got over 40 crore nett before.

The film also also crossed the 300 crore nett mark on Monday and stands at a huge 302.50 crore nett and it is possible the film could be standing at 400 crore nett at the end of the week. It will depend on the holds over the next few days. The film has seen bigger drops in the North and East while Mumbai and the Central circuits have seen superb holds.

Mumbai circuit is running riot as it has already crossed 100 crore nett in four days and it looks pretty certain that it will cross 200 crore nett in the long run. Both Maharashtra and Gujarat are on fire. CP Berar which has only seen KGF - CHAPTER 2 hit the 3 crore nett mark before PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE collected 3 crore nett on Monday. This is more than the first day of the 50 crore nett plus openers, JAWAAN, PATHAAN and ANIMAL.

The film will be around 100 crore nett ahead of STREE 2 and is sure to beat the total of that film which is the highest ever. It is also sure to be the first film to hit 600 crore nett in Hindi and you cant rule out a total of 700 crore nett plus as the film will get advantage of the Christmas and New Year period at the end of the month.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE has basically recorded the highest Monday in history and the first film to cross 40 crore nett on Monday. There is TIGER 3 above it but that film was a Sunday release and Monday was the huge Diwali holiday and hence, that can be taken out. The size of this number can be put into perspective by the fact there are very few films over 30 crore nett on Monday without holiday support.

The 41 crore nett number has come after a four days of release while the next best Mondays post pandemic in terms of fair value, GADAR 2 and ANIMAL, came after three days. The collections on Monday are less than GADAR 2 in most of the mass pockets though Maharashtra and Gujarat are higher.

The Tuesday target will be to beat the ANIMAL record which is the highest first Tuesday on a non holiday. GADAR 2 had a huge total but it was a day before the national holiday. There is a good chance that Tuesday will be a record but now its actually about where the film lands on the second Friday and it should be targeting the highest second Friday ever. The way the film is going, it looks like it will smash all records for the next few weeks but all it takes is one drop and then records become tough.

Before PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE, STREE 2 had the highest Monday this year of almost 37 crore nett but that came on a holiday. There is a huge difference in the business of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and STREE 2 in Mumbai circuit and single screens across the country.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is on a juggernaut run in Mumbai circuit as on Monday the film was higher in Mumbai circuit than Nizam/Andhra which is pretty much unthinkable for a big budget Telugu film. The film collected 14.45 crore nett in Mumbai circuit while the collections in Nizam/Andhra were just 12 crore nett with 84 lakhs nett in Marathawada giving Nizam/Andhra a total of 12.84 crore nett.

It means Mumbai circuit is more than 1.50 crore nett than Nizam/Andhra on Monday and this gap is likely to get bigger over the longer run. The film has not lived to expectations in Telugu. It cant be said the film has not performed in Telugu but the makers and distributors would have been expecting higher numbers in Nizam/Andhra and be much closer to RRR then it will eventually get.

In terms of occupancy it is the Hindi version which is scoring in Hyderabad on Monday. The Hindi version had a shockingly bad release in Hyderabad despite the demand which is the case with many of these Telugu dubbed films. The Hindi showcasing has improved but it still needs more shows.

The film has reached 107 crore nett in Mumbai including the Telugu version but Nizam/Andhra stands at 163 crore nett including Marathawada and the Hindi version. Hence, its too much to expect to Mumbai to go ahead of Nizam/Andhra but this gap of 56 crore nett will be much much less by the end of the films run.
