PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) continued its box office annihilation on Sunday as it recorded an insane 76 crore nett for a four day weekend total of 261 crore nett which is averaging out to 65 crore nett per day. All records have been beaten by a distance and on Sunday, its another level as its around 7 crore nett higher than anything seen before and that too with a limited South release. If this was an original Hindi film scoring like this, then Sunday would be 85 crore nett.

The film is running riot in Mumbai circuit which will have collections of 28 crore nett apprx on Sunday. Both Maharashtra and Gujarat went crazy on Sunday and the circuit has put up around 90 crore nett in just four days and this is the lifetime of a big HIT like BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 released on Diwali. God knows where this film would be in Mumbai with a Diwali release. You could be looking at the BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION record going in one week on Diwali.

The film did have capacity issues in the East as single screen circuits like Bihar and Odisha had no where to go and recorded similar collections on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The capacity problems were there in plex areas as well post noon as tickets were hardly available which started pushing the Monday advances. This means that record collections over the weekdays are pretty much locked.

The collections could have been better in Delhi/UP which is probably the underperforming circuit with collections around 48 crore nett. Here, the four day weekend is pretty much in the JAWAN range. East Punjab went though the roof on Sunday as it got 6.75 crore nett which is the highest ever day for the circuit and here, the four day weekend was 22.50 crore nett. There have been many films breaking records post pandemic as business shows huge jumps for the bigger films due to higher ticket rates but PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE looks at another level as compared to the other films.

The film picked up around 475 crore nett in all versions across India. The South is good with Nizam/Andhra being pretty much in the same range as KALKI 2898 AD but more was probably expected from PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE there. The overseas collections will land near $19 million which is around $1 million better than KALKI 2898 AD but well short of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION which was $23 million and that too with four days and not five of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and KALKI 2898 AD.

The Hindi version is dominating in overseas and will do outstanding business while Telugu faded after the initial rush. Overseas could have been an issue as to what it had to do but with Hindi finding an audience, the film will go on a strong run in overseas as well.

PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE collected an insane 483 crore nett in the first four days of its run across India in all its versions with Hindi version giving 54% of the collections and this ratio is only going to get higher. The film collected 261 crore nett in Hindi and 222 crore nett in other languages.

The collections of KALKI 2898 AD were 288 crore nett earlier this year which is almost 200 crore nett less. The main difference is the Hindi version which has collected over 150 crore nett more for PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE as compared to KALKI, 2898 AD. In Kerala KALKI 2898 AD will actually do better as it scored higher numbers after the first day.

The overseas business of the film is closer as its picked up $18.75 million while KALKI 2898 AD was $18 million. In Australia, it saw the highest collection ever for an Indian film as it crossed the 5 day figure of PATHAAN in four days. The film grossed $9 million in USA/Canada while UK crossed the £1 million mark.

The worldwide GROSS for PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in the first four days is an insane 742 crore. KALKI 2898 AD was 500 crore worldwide in the same period of four days. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE is on course to become the second film to film to hit the 1000 crore nett mark in India after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION and it will not need much help from South to get there.

It will also easily cross 1000 crore worldwide and maybe even go to 1500 crore but here the record in these multiple versions is DANGAL at 2000 crore due to China and this is impossible to reach.
