In the initial days of her career, Anita Hassanandani played the lead actress in a couple of Hindi films, but her movie career did not take off the way she would have liked it to.

Looking back, the actress says, “Honestly, I didn’t get great work after Kucch Toh Hai and Krishna Cottage. I was in talks for a few projects, but nothing interesting materialized. I think I lacked the social skills required for a film career; I was not always out there meeting people and telling them how ambitious I was.”

However, Anita has no regrets and is happy with the way her career in television shaped up. The actress, who is currently essaying a negative role in the TV show Suman Indori, shares, “TV helped me feel settled and I enjoy working in this medium. I’m also doing south films. I find the set-up very professional and enjoy the work culture. Films start on time and rarely get stalled. Also, they have upped their game in recent years.”

‘The fame and success you get on social media is temporary’
Anita has been active on social media over the past few years, but doesn’t see herself as an influencer. She says, “The fame and success you get on social media is temporary. Today, if I enter a room, people will not know me because I have many followers, they will know me because I am an actor. Of course, social media can be lucrative for some people, but I feel it is not the be all and end all for an actor.”
