Ever since Oscar-winning music composer A R Rahman and Saira Banu announced their divorce, rumours have swirled linking the composer to bassist Mohini Dey, who coincidentally announced her separation from husband Mark Hartsuch on the same day. Addressing the chatter, Dey took to Instagram Stories to dismiss the speculations and declined interview requests related to the rumours.

“I’ve been getting a humungous amount of requests for interviews, and I know exactly what it’s about. I respectfully decline because I’m not interested in fuelling ABSOLUTE BS. My energy is not worth spending on RUMOURS. Kindly respect my privacy (sic),” she wrote.

Rahman’s son, Ameen, also condemned the “baseless” rumours, while his daughter, Raheema Rahman, shared a pointed Instagram Story, stating, “Rumours are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots,” adding, “Honestly, get a life.”
