In a quick turn of events, Palak Sindhwani who quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah a few days ago, has now been replaced by Khushi Mali. Palak played the role of Sonu Bhide for the last 5 years and now Khushi, who was last seen in Sajha Sindoor, is all set to play Sonu in the show.

Asit Kumarr Modi, producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, said, "Sonu is a vital part of the Tapu Sena, and her presence has always shown leadership and warmth. Meanwhile Palak is embroiled in a legal battle with the makers. She has been issued a notice of breach of contract while the actress has also accused the makers of making her exit from the show difficult. Palak played this role for 5 years. Taarak Mehta is one of the longest running shows on TV. Jethalal aka Dilip Joshi plays the lead role. The show is produced by Asit Kumarr Modi.
