Jigra has an interesting storyline and also keeps one gripped in the first half. The intermission point is stylish and well thought of. The fictional country of Hanshi Dao is depicted authentically. Sadly, the film goes downhill in the second half. Certain actions of the protagonist are not acceptable. And more importantly, this is a masala film, if one goes by the plot. But the treatment is very niche. Hence, the climax is not easy to digest since there's a mismatch between the content and execution. Alia Bhatt, however, gives her 100% to the role and excels. Vedang Raina proves he's here to stay, if he chooses the correct scripts. Manoj Pahwa is dependable while Vivek Gomber (Jailer Handa) is terrific to say the least. Rahul Ravindran (Muthu) is a great find and the same goes for Ankur Khanna (Rayyan). All in all, Jigra is an average flick.
My rating - ** ½ out of 5!
