STREE 2 had another huge day as the film collected 4.75 crore nett apprx on National Cinema Day and is still the leading film despite a couple of new releases. This pretty much ensures another record weekend for the film but it will probably slow a little from here. The number on Cinema Day is actually similar to JAWAN which also had a similar offer on sixth Friday. But it should hold better than JAWAN over the week going by the previous week trends.

The film has just smashed the box office and has done it with just a budget of a little over 100 crore and with just the female lead being a star though you cant call it a heroine orientated film as the drivers of the film are the horror characters. If it could be bracketed as a heroine orientated film, then this would be be the second biggest of all time after MOTHER INDIA.

The film is going to set a benchmark of around 575 crore nett and now its about does it remain the biggest hit of the year. This would normally be a foregone conclusion but PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE still may make it in December and that has potential to take the benchmark to an even higher level if it has the merits.

STREE 2 continues to be fantastic at the box office after Cinema Day as it shows only a 25% drop to collect in the 3.50 - 3.75 crore nett range. JAWAN, which had collected a similar number on National Cinema Day, had shown a much bigger drop as that film probably got bigger benefit of the offer. The film is now at 563 crore nett plus and is still not stopping and records continue to fall across most circuits.

STREE 2 saw another insane weekend as it recorded the highest ever sixth weekend by a distance and it is also the highest sixth week ever as it the numbers are higher than the sixth week of URI. STREE 2 is the film to get over the 10 crore nett mark in week six and the horror comedy will be the first to be over 15 crore nett.

A 20 crore nett sixth week would be asking for a lot but it would not surprise if it did it considering how the film has trended so far. The film benefited from National Cinema Day on Friday but what was more impressive was the numbers on Saturday and Sunday. The film stands at 565 crore nett and the 575 crore nett looks pretty easy from here. 

The film has crossed the business of JAWAN and will also cross the footfalls of it which were around 3.1 crore for the Hindi version. STREE 2, at the moment, is on a similar mark but the run is still going which will probably mean around 3.2 crore footfalls. This is double the Hindi footfalls of KALKI 2898 AD which was 1.6 crore plus and that was the best of the year before STREE 2. GADAR 2 will remain number one post pandemic in terms of footfalls due to the huge single screen business ratio and also lower rates at multiplexes. GADAR 2 got 3.4 crore plus footfalls. 

GADAR 2, JAWAN and STREE 2 are the 3 crore plus footfall films post pandemic and this is probably more impressive than the 3.50 crore footfall that films pre pandemic like DANGAL, BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and PK used to get as the audience pool out there is less for many reasons. But it is the next few years which will tell where these of level of footfalls stand.
