While people go to college to build a career, Harshvardhan Rane chose to do it the other way. After becoming an actor, he chose to pursue his graduation in Psychology (Hons) and last month, he took his first-year exams.

“There was always a void of not completing my education to become an actor. [Now] I feel a sense of fulfilment,” says Rane, who left home at the age of 17 and never got an opportunity to focus on his education since then.

Ask him about pre-exam jitters, and he says, “Nervousness mein maine zyada padhai kar li thi.”

The 40-year-old, who has been a part of films such as Dange and Haseen Dillruba (2021), had to ace the balancing act between shoot commitments and studies to pull this feat. “During exercising, on my way home, in transit, at airport lounge — everywhere I would listen to audio lectures. I have done the most amount of studying in flights,” shares Rane, adding that he has already started working for next year’s exam.
