BAD NEWZ collected 42.50 crore nett apprx in its first week driven by a solid weekend. The weekdays collections are on the lower side though they have held up pretty well post the drop on the Monday. The first week collections are pretty similar to TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA and CREW as those films were also in the 41-42 crore nett range. 

The better comparison is probably CREW as that was more urban than TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA. But BAD NEWZ is even a notch up on CREW going by the ratio of collections from the biggest ten or so centres. The difference is likely to get wider as CREW had an open second week or at least most of it while here with BAD NEWZ, a drop is certain due to DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE.

The second Friday is crucial for the film as a 2 crore nett number would easily take the film above 60 crore nett. However, that will be a tough number to get due to the competition. The mass centres will drop out of the picture in week two. The numbers in the likes of Rajasthan, CI and Gujarat etc are short of CREW.
