Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 3: Vicky Kaushal And Triptii Dimri's Film Is At Rs 29 Crore And Counting
Box Office India Trade Network

BAD NEWZ collected around 3.50 crore nett on its first Monday which is a 58% drop from the first day. The drop is there which was likely as even on a best case, it was going to be at least a 50% drop  Despite the drop, the number on Monday is still in the same range as CREW (taking out holiday Factor) and TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA.

The film also started BOGO late on Monday which can give the collections a helping hand today. The problem for the film is Mumbai circuit which has shown a big drop from Friday dropping around 62%. Generally business has seen bigger drops in Mumbai on Monday even with the holdover films. But this affects BAD NEWZ the most being the new release.

The numbers in Delhi/UP and East Punjab remain good despite the drop and it is sure to beat CREW and TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA in East Punjab. The total for the film so far is 33.25 crore nett and the first week should go to around 42 crore nett which is a pretty good total but its all about what it does when DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE releases. Stabilization in Mumbai can really help the cause of the film as North is doing well enough while other regions outside Mysore were never really going to do well.

The collections of BAD NEWZ till date are as follows.
Friday - 8,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 11,25,00,000 appr
Monday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 33,25,00,000 apprx

BAD NEWZ did well on Tuesday as it collected in the same range as Monday and final collections could even be a little higher. The film was probably helped a little by the BOGO scheme and collections in Mumbai were better than Monday.

The collections of the film are now almost 37 crore nett and the first week is heading for a total of around 43 crore nett which would be a solid first week number. The film continues to do good business in Delhi NCR and East Punjab and these are the drivers of the film.

The key is now what happens on Friday with the release of DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE but if the film can get a couple of more steady days, then it should be fine and have some sort of success. The final numbers are unlikely to reach the levels of CREW and TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA as there are more films releasing every week. However, BAD NEWZ is also a lower costing film as compared to those two.

The collections of BAD NEWZ till date are as follows.
Friday - 8,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 11,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 36,75,00,000 apprx

BAD NEWZ has put up good numbers in Overseas which are easily the best for a Vicky Kaushal film beating the $2 million of RAAZI which also had Alia Bhatt in the lead. The opening of URI was $1.2 million.

The zone of the film is a positive for Overseas and the Punjabi flavour and presence of Ammy Virk probably pushed the number in Canada. But at the end of the day, its the good results in Gulf which has pushed the film over the $2 million mark.

The numbers in Gulf are a surprise as its the second biggest opening there of the year after BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN as FIGHTER did not release in Gulf. The numbers of BAD NEWZ are better than TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA, SHAITAAN and CREW in Gulf.

The overseas figure for BAD NEWZ over the weekend are as follows.
US - $583,000
Canada - $430,000
United Kingdom - £165,000
Gulf - $500,000
Australia - A$283,000
Rest Of The World - $250,000
TOTAL - $2,200,000 apprx
