Exploring a destination with the locals is the best way to experience the culture. For actress Shriya Pilgaonkar, an impromptu trip to explore Kashmir turned out to be a life changing experience. Dealing with the heat in Mumbai, the actress shared memories of experiencing the local culture in snowfilled Kashmir.
The actress states that her dream is to, "drive around the country to explore the different landscapes and eat all the different food."
Sharing her favourite memories from the trip the actress says, "Two years ago I was filming in Pahalgam and decided to stay back and explore the place with the locals. Surrounded by snow, I did not have network for three days which was the best part, I was present in the moment. We drove around to small, quaint villages and were once welcomed by a family where I was served Kashmiri noon chai, local biscuits, kahwah (tea) and Kashmiri bread (bazir tchot). They showed us around at their beautiful orchard and had so many questions about my life back in Mumbai."
Speaking about the local handicrafts that she still has as memoirs she says, "I bought shawls and a rug. Of course, I had also bought saffron."
