Anupria Goenka’s short film, Break The Silence, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year, and the actor is quite ecstatic about this milestone. Directed by Hemant Chauhan, the film is a crime- thriller about kids with special needs.

“Break The Silence was made with the intention of bringing to light how providers and caretakers of special kids can be dangerous too. With the film going to Cannes, there is a certain credibility around it now, and the message could reach a wider audience,” the actor says.

While she couldn’t be present at the festival, Goenka doesn’t regret it. “I am happy that our film went there... I do pull my director’s leg, though, about not taking us there! (laughs),” she quips, adding that, as an actor, such prestigious platforms do add to her repertoire.

“Everybody dreams of having their films screened at such prestigious festivals because only the best of world cinema goes there. It does make one feel proud and helps one get more work that aligns with one’s sensibilities,” she says.
