Salman-Katrina were uncomfortable during Tiger shoot: Kabir
HINDUSTAN TIMES (March 8, 2024)

It wasn’t all rosy when actors Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif teamed up for Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger (2012) after the end of their relationship. According to the filmmaker, the two were initially “weren’t that comfortable” while filming together.

In a promo of casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s upcoming talk show titled The Bombay Dreams, Kabir revealed that the makers had already signed Kaif for the role of Zoya, an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent, before approaching Salman for the character of Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger, an agent of the Indian intelligence agency, RAW.

“Katrina had already been signed. She was Zoya. And then we went to Salman. This was the stage where they had broken up and they weren’t that comfortable,” Kabir revealed in the promo.

It is believed that Kaif and Salman parted ways in 2010. Back in 2011, Kaif admitted in a conversation with Cosmopolitan that Salman was her “first serious relationship”.

The actors went on to work together in the Tiger franchise that consists of the films Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Tiger 3 (2023).
