LAAPATAA LADIES had a poor first weekend of 3.75 crore nett though there was good growth on Saturday and even Sunday growth was there for the film. But that is from such a low opening day that it had to do better. The killer was the opening day and now the film has to do more on Monday than Friday and that is just for some sort of respectable run and not success.
The programming is heavily lopsided to PVRINOX probably as PVR are the distributors of the film and around 75% of its all India business has come from this chain. Eventually, this makes it hard in the long run as only this chain is going to give collections and programming will have to become more balanced as new films release and come down to levels of how other multiplex chains are programming the film.
The collections of LAAPATAA LADIES are as follows.
Friday - 75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,35,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 1,65,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 3,75,00,000 apprx
DUNE: PART TWO collected 10.50 crore nett in its first weekend including paid previews on Thursday. This film had good growth on Saturday also but overall its a fair weekend. However, the trend does not suggest it can go on strongly from here though with Hollywood, these films can bounce back on the weekends.
