Former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers has revealed that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. Speaking on his official YouTube channel, De Villiers said that Kohli has been indulging in “quality family time”.

He shared, “Virat is spending some quality time with his family, and that is the reason he is missing the initial two Test matches... Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him. But he has made absolutely the right decision.”

Speculations around Anushka’s second pregnancy started surfacing online in November 2023. Then in January, Kohli pulled out of the Indian squad for the opening two Tests against England citing personal reasons. The couple welcomed their first baby, daughter Vamika, in 2021.

HT City was the first to break the news about Sharma’s second pregnancy. Later, many reports surfaced online, especially after she was spotted with a baby bump. The couple has remained tight-lipped about the pregnancy and haven’t shared any updates yet. However, with ABD now confirming the news, congratulations are definitely in order for Kohli and Sharma.

They got married in December 2017, in Italy, and have a three-year-old daughter, Vamika.
