Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, on Saturday, lauded the evolution of the Hindi film industry as a space conducive to the evolution of female actors in the past few years.

“A lot of strong women have done a lot of strong parts in films. They have done films that have been loved by the audiences, by the masses, by the film people, by critics and at the box office,” the Jaane Jaan (2023) actor told ABP News, also expressing gratitude to the media for recognizing her journey as an actor in the industry.

The 43-year-old actor, who will be next seen in Crew alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon, went on to praise her contemporaries, such as Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone and Vidya Balan, highlighting their influence in shaping the industry.

She said, “Be it Kangana, Vidya, Deepika, or myself, we have always tried to stand for roles that have risen above (the tag of) ‘just being there in the film’. This development has changed the dynamics of the industry. Female actors now demand a certain role, fee and position in the film. Thus, today, things are different. Today, the audience also has become accepting.”
