MERRY CHRISTMAS had a fair hold on Monday as it collected 1.50 crore nett which is a 25% drop from day one but it is a holiday period. There are no official holidays as such but various states have different festivals at this time of year which aids the collections.

The film should really be collecting more closer to the Friday number and that would have been the case if this holiday factor was not even there. The film has collected 9.75 crore nett till date in four days which is a low collection but for these films, it about what they are doing after the first week.

The four day collections of MERRY CHRISTMAS are as follows.

Friday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 3,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 3,25,00,000 apprx

Monday - 1,50,00,000 apprx

HANUMAN (Hindi) is excellent on the first Monday as it collects 3.75 crore nett and takes its total to over 15 crore nett. The film has collected almost double of its Friday number and there is that holiday factor here but take that out and it can easily be assumed that there is at least a 50% jump from Friday.

There was a film like 12TH FAIL which went over 50 crore nett with some appreciation in the metros. But here, the appreciation is outside the metros in places like Gujarat, UP, MP etc and this should ensure that this film goes on to higher number than 12TH FAIL even with FIGHTER in the way and just 15 crore nett up on the board till today. The metro appreciation may not be like 12TH FAIL but that won't matter in the long run as a far wider reach will give it far better numbers.

MERRY CHRISTMAS saw drop post the partial holiday on Monday as it collected around 1 crore nett on Tuesday. The trend is decent for the film but for these films, you can have a low opening and then, the trend has to be good.

The numbers on Tuesday are 50% down on Friday which would have been fine if the film got some sort of opening but with these level of collections, it will find it tough going forward. The film has collected 10.75 crore nett so far and it should be a 12.50 crore nett week for the film. Then the target is probably 20 crore nett lifetime which will depend on its second Friday collection.

HANUMAN (Hindi) also saw a drop on Tuesday as areas which had a holiday like Gujarat, Rajasthan and Odisha came off a holiday. The last named was huge on Monday as it had the best collections outside Mumbai and Delhi/UP. Gujarat also saw huge collections on Monday collecting almost 1 crore nett.

The circuits where there was no holiday like Delhi/UP and East Punjab are steady on Tuesday with very similar collections to Monday and here there is a partial holiday on Wednesday which should help collections. The film is basically heading for a second Friday which will be more than the first Friday. The film is also huge in Telugu as collections went higher than the big film GUNTUR KAARAM on Tuesday in Nizam/Andhra.
