SAM BAHADUR collected a fair 25 crore nett over its first weekend with good growth on Saturday though there was not much follow through on the Sunday which was expected.as the bulk of the business was coming from the three big metro centres.

These collections are low for the film but if you consider the juggernaut competition of ANIMAL against the film and the general collections of films, which don't have much to bring out mass audiences over the first weekend, then these collections are pretty respectable.

Despite the decent weekend trend, the problem the film is likely to face is that ANIMAL will be recording huge collections on the weekdays and in the metros also and with a limited audience out there on weekdays. Also, there is no holiday support; hence, it will find it tough to hold as strong as it has to.

SAM BAHADUR dropped around 40% on Monday to collect in the 3.50-3.75 crore nett range but the film needed to do better due to the weekend figures being low for the film. The film needed to be closer to the first day number and really could  ot afford to drop more than 25% at the max.

These numbers are respectable in terms it has clashed with a colossal like ANIMAL and got some numbers as many films which have released without this sort of competition have not been able to get even these sort of numbers. But eventually box office is not about doing better than the has been films but getting results and that looks tough for Sam Bahadur post the Monday numbers.

The ANIMAL wave is going to go on for sometime and then there are two huge Christmas releases. The best case for SAM BAHADUR is somehow make it to the AVERAGE mark. But with under 4 crore nett coming on a Monday, that looks far unless the film can really hold well from here on for a few weeks. The four day collections of the film are around 28.75 crore nett.
