ANIMAL had a huge second weekend of 87 crore nett which is the second highest of all time after GADAR 2. The film only fell a little short of GADAR 2 number and that was mainly because the Sunday did not see a lot of growth. This could be due to some fatigue as the film is not family friendly and it has accumulated huge numbers till date.

The ten day figures of the film now stand at a huge 376 crore nett making it fifth highest grossing Hindi film after JAWAN, GADAR 2, PATHAAN, BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and KGF - CHAPTER 2. It will cruise past the numbers of KGF - CHAPTER 2 but the other films will become more harder to reach after the second Sunday.

The Monday becomes important for the 500 crore nett number because if the film shows the normal trend from Friday, then it will be back to normal and the records will continue but if there is further fatigue then the drops could come. Nevertheless, the job has been done in a huge way with insane business till date. In Gujarat, it is likely to beat the numbers of PATHAAN by the end of the week and in CI, it will be both PATHAAN and JAWAN and other Hindi circuits will follow.

The lesser performance has come in East India but even there its only Bihar which is less than GADAR 2 with West Bengal being much better. West Bengal, however, is not comparable to PATHAAN or JAWAN due to the Shah Rukh Khan factor.

ANIMAL had a super strong second Monday which was the third highest in history after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and GADAR 2. The film did not reach the number expected on Sunday but on Monday, it is back on normal trajectory. The collections on Monday were a huge 13 crore nett.

This takes the film to 389 crore nett in Hindi in eleven days and should be flirting around the 400 crore nett mark today (Tuesday). The second week has so far collected 100 crore nett and it should add another 30 crore nett apprx for a second week of 130 crore nett apprx.

Then it becomes about how close it can get the 500 crore nett mark before the Christmas films DUNKI and SALAAR come. It will not be just DUNKI and SALAAR fighting for shows as many cinemas will retain ANIMAL as well especially if the third week trend is strong. Its a good period over Christmas and New Year at multiplexes and if ANIMAL has shows, it will collect well over the period as its an established film.

The record breaking numbers for ANIMAL continue in East Punjab, Delhi NCR, Nizam/Andhra and Mysore. Its weird as on content these places don't really go hand in hand but Ranbir Kapoor is best in North and in the two southern markets, it will be the goodwill of the director.

ANIMAL has now taken its total to 73 crore nett making it the highest grossing non South Indian film in Nizam/Andhra and there is still some gas left in the tank. The 100 crore nett mark will probably be too far but its quite possible the film will get to around 90 crore nett which is phenomenal. Till date, there maybe 20 odd films which have reached this mark in Nizam/Andhra.

This includes all Telugu films which generally rule in the state and KGF - CHAPTER 2 which is the only non Telugu industry film film to get over 100 crore nett. KGF - CHAPTER 2 did around 120 crore nett in Nizam/Andhra; hence, ANIMAL getting 90 crore nett is an insane figure. If we go by 2023, then WALTAIR VEERAYYA and ADIPURUSH ae the only films to cross 100 crore in the circuit and ANIMAL will stand third before the release of SALAAR.

The previous best non South films are AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER at 70 crore nett and JAWAN at 68 crore nett. The numbers have only come over the last year as before that the best non South totals in the circuit were in the 30-35 crore nett range with likes of AVENGERS: ENDGAME and BRAHMASTRA.
