Viral: Maratha Mandir Owner On Tiger 3 Occupancy: ' Super-Duper Quality Missing'
Box Office India Trade Network

TIGER 3 lost a huge chunk of its revenue on Sunday due to the world cup cricket final as it only collected around 9.75 crore nett. This is around 15 crore nett loss meaning the film has lost around 23-25 crore nett on the two day main matches featuring India while there could be a little on the other days when other matches played.

The hit was huge in the bigger multiplexes as these multiplexes cut shows to screen the final live in many cities across India. The drops here were 55-60% from the previous day, but mass centres held better showing drops of under 50%. The little plus was that it held up better than the other films being screened probably as it has mass reach as compared to others which are urban films. The film has collected 219 crore nett so far in eight days and after the drop on Wednesday it was always going to be what the film could do from Monday onwards.

There is a huge ticket rate drop on Monday but there is a minor holiday and the fact that the Sunday went missing for the film. Hence, the hope is that it can get a decent hold on Monday and have a decent run for the next ten days or so. The film has done well till date though not matched the huge expectations that it had but the collections from here that will tell what sort of appreciation the film has.

The collections of TIGER 3 till date are as follows.
Sunday - 42,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 57,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 42,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday 19,75,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 16,75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 13,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
Week One - 2,09,25,00,000

TOTAL - 2,19,00,00,000 apprx
-----------------------------------
TIGER 3 did decent business on its second Monday with collections of 7 crore nett although the Monday is day nine instead of the regular day eleven. This takes the film to 226 crore nett so far which is a good number.

The film had have some holiday factor (Chhath Puja) in some states which held up better than normal and these will drop on Tuesday. But some mass pockets also held well without the holiday factor. It remains to be seen where the film settles on Tuesday but the film is a HIT unless the collections come down heavily from here on. The film should cross the 275 crore nett and maybe has an outside chance of going to 300 crore nett.

The cricket matches has meant Diwali has not been as good as usual with a good chunk of business lost. Even if these matches were not there and Diwali played out as it has, then the 300 crore nett number was there for the film.

Its been a long time since Diwali has been huge for the action zone with the bigger blockbusters coming more from the entertainment and comedy zone like the GOLMAAL films and OM SHANTI OM. However, TIGER 3 is comfortably the top grosser on Diwali though footfalls will be less than likes of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO and GOLMAAL AGAIN. The footfalls will probably end in the same range as HOUSEFULL 4.
