Actress Tridha Choudhury, known for films like Mishawr Rawhoshyo, Jodi Love Dile Na Prane and Khaad to name a few, might have moved base to Mumbai but her soul is still in Kolkata. In an exclusive interview with CT, she reveals when she will be back in Kolkata, her Diwali plans, and that she will be tying the knot next year.

“Dhanteras is a festival which I celebrate religiously. I believe buying gold, silver and diamonds on this day brings in luck and signifies wealth and prosperity. I also do Lakshmi Puja at home on this day. This year I’m planning to invest in a solitaire”

“I’ll be in Kolkata during Bhai Phonta this year. My brothers are students in the UK but I’ll celebrate it with my cousins. I have already chalked out what I’m going to eat when I’m in the city, for instance mutton kosha cooked by my grandmother. Two of my closest friends are getting married, so I’m looking forward to that too”

“I’ve started decorating my house for Diwali and already distributing gifts too. It’s one of my favourite festivals. Diwali lights symbolise triumph of good over darkness and evil. I’ll be in Delhi to celebrate the festival of lights and plan to wear a heavily embroidered sharara gifted to me by a special someone”

“I love travelling around the world but there’s no city like Kolkata. The city’s warmth and its food is unmatched. Now that I live in Mumbai, I realised Kolkata’s simplicity can’t be found anywhere else. People develop strong connections in Kolkata”

“I’ve received many project offers in Bengali but couldn’t be a part of any due to prior commitments. However, I’ll soon be seen essaying the character of a journalist in a Bengali web series. I’ll start dubbing for it soon”

“I’m seeing someone from the industry but both of us believe in keeping things private. I can’t reveal much about my relationship but all I can say is both of us are in a happy space and we plan to get married in a gurdwara next year”
