It’s been a hot minute since Rashami Desai was seen on the small screen and it has left people wondering about her absence. The actor tells us that she is trying to break into Bollywood and has been “very selective about the projects” she takes up.

“As an actor, I want to explore more (different types of projects and roles) and I have to be patient as things won’t go my way overnight. Everything happens at its own pace. Since I started my acting career, I’ve learnt that kuch achcha chahiye toh usmein waqt lagta hai,” shares the 37-year-old, who was last seen in Naagin Season 6.

Having gained popularity with the TV show Uttaran, Desai has done some work in films like Dabangg 2 (2012) and Superstar (2017) . However, she says, “I want to work in Bollywood. I have been dreaming about this for years.”

Ask if she frets that her fans would forget her if she doesn’t keep working and the actor says, “When I used to do TV, I would take a gap of three to four years [between each show]. I wasn’t scared of what would happen if I wasn’t seen. Out of sight, out of mind is a myth. I am just going with the flow.”
