During her career, Sanya Malhotra has worked in many films that have an abundance of strong female characters, with Jawan being the latest. The actor says women in Bollywood stand united. The perception that catfights are common is “boring” and needs to be wiped away.

Malhotra “cherishes” the fact that she is surrounded by “strong womanhood”.

“Apart from working with wonderful women on set, I have some amazing women [in my life], who inspire me. Actresses indulging in a catfight might be a good PR peg, but it’s not a reality. There are no catfights in the industry. I’ve seen women who support each other and it makes me happy,” she adds.

The 31-year-old believes there is no dearth of work in the industry anymore, so female actors don’t have to fight to achieve success. There is also something for every everyone so they can all shine in their craft.

“I started [my career] off with Dangal (2016) and then Pataakha (2018), [which were both female-led films]. I genuinely believe that success and work are in abundance. It’s high time we supported each other and celebrated our success together. I feel very happy when I see the women I’ve worked with are secure [in themselves],” she ends.
