After Gadar 2’s success at the BO, speculation is intensifying around actor Sunny Deol burying the hatchet with filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi and starring in a film directed by him and produced by Aamir Khan. The 65-year-old is said to have fallen out with Santoshi after the latter refused to direct Ghayal Once Again (2016), the sequel to their 1990 action-drama Ghayal.

However, we have learned that Deol hasn’t zeroed in on his next project yet and reports of him collaborating with his Damini (1993) and Ghatak (1996) director are baseless at the moment.

“After news of Sunny patching up with Shah Rukh Khan following their hug at the success bash of Gadar 2, there’s a growing buzz that he might reunite with Santoshi, but there’s no truth to this,” says a source.

Deol, who is in the USA for a personal break, is using the downtime to “realign his thoughts and the projects he wants to associate with”, says another source, adding, “He is spending time with family after a hectic schedule with Gadar 2. He will not take any decisions in haste. People want Sunny to reunite with Santoshi, but nothing of that sort has happened right now. He will get back to work and start reading scripts once he is back from the US later this week.”
