JAWAN (Hindi) saw a drop on Wednesday which was expected post the holiday period but its still a fantastic collection of 8.50 crore nett. The collections may have come down but they remain at a high level and around 30% better than PATHAAN on the same day.

This takes the total of the film to over 450 crore nett and the second week will clock a total of 120 crore nett which will be the third best ever after and the fifth century in week two after BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONLCUSION, GADAR 2, DANGAL and THE KASHMIR FILES. The film remains on course for somwhere around the 500 crore nett mark after three weeks.

The story of the film is the collections in South India as all records have gone and that it is not including the Tamil and Telugu versions. If we include regional, in the South it will be doing as much if not more than what PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 did in the South and that was a South Indian film. The numbers in South are so huge that there will only be around 12-13 South Indian films to have more collections and only Hollywood release AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER. The Hindi circuits are all excellent but outside West Bengal and Assam, it will not hit record numbers.

JAWAN (Hindi) hit an extraordinary second week of 120 crore nett which takes the film up to a huge total of 460 crore nett. There have been drops over the last two days as it came out of two partial holidays on Monday and Tuesday but collections are comfortably ahead of PATHAAN levels at the same time.

The film continues to put up huge numbers in South with Mysore and Nizam/Andhra leading. Tamil Nadu and Kerala are at or will end at record levels but Mysore and Nizam/Andhra are insane. West Bengal and Assam are also at crazy levels. The 500 crore nett mark is there for the film and its just about how much higher it can go and for that a good hold on third Friday is important.

The film could have done better in the Hindi speaking circuits as numbers are well short of GADAR 2. But the film had a South look and is not a rural film. Yet, the numbers are still excellent as it has the star presence of Shah Rukh Khan which compensates the South feel of the film.
