JAWAN has set the box office on fire with a huge first day of 65 crore nett and a crazy record in Mumbai circuit as well with a huge collection of almost 18 crore nett which has never been done before and at a time when the circuit has not been doing so well as well. The record earlier for all India was PATHAAN which was 56 crore nett which has beaten by a distance. The record in Mumbai circuit was the 16.50 crore nett of KGF - CHAPTER 2.

South India and East India has seen all records which leaves North and Central India which is huge but off record levels. Delhi/UP is an ALL TIME RECORD also but still could have pushed a little higher considering the numbers of PATHAAN. Mumbai, Delhi/UP, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Mysore and Kerala all see records go. Nizam/Andhra in Hindi is a minor miss but that can be down to the Telegu version racking up good collections. The Tamil and Telugu versions are around 8 crore nett for an all India total of 71 crore nett.

It was a partial holiday with Janmashtami but the huge numbers have actually come in areas where it was not a holiday. Even on fair value washout the Janmashtami factor, the film is higher than PATHAAN on fair value by a couple of crore. The numbers are simply mindblowing as this sort of number would be unthinkable a year back. The industry is now back on track and how.

JAWAN is a winner and its just about how big the film becomes but that's about the weekdays. Right now, its heading for an insane weekend and lets see how the three days compare with PATHAAN which had a national holiday in the first three days. There will be a drop on day two but that is not an issue as its expected on a normal working and that too after a mammoth initial.

JAWAN saw another huge day as it collected an insane 46 crore nett on its second day. This is coming of a partial holiday like Janmashtami and a normal day and still the film is well above 40 crore nett. This takes the two day number of the film to crazy 111 crore nett and its an easy record for the weekend and maybe even a 175 crore nett total for 3 days.

The holds are fantastic all over with drops in the 25-30% range depending on the circuit and it would have been great even if the film had dropped 35% plus. But these holds are simply superb. The film is still strongest in South and East but some of the other circuits have shown lesser drops which is good for the long run.

There is a good chance the film could go back up to the first day level on Saturday though a lot depends on the mass circuits. If the mass circuits like CI and Rajasthan go back up to day one levels, then that ensures good holds post the extended weekend. There is a cricket match on Sunday with India vs Pakistan but there are monsoons in Sri Lanka and hopefully its get washed out or maybe partially washed out.

JAWAN continues to smash all the records in the book as it collected 67 crore nett on Saturday which is the highest collection ever recorded in a single day. The film also has 178 crore nett for the three day weekend which is more than 10% higher than PATHAAN which collected 160 crore nett.

The growth of the film was extraordinary in all the bigger centres from Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Bangalore. The latter is recording astounding collections which are 30-40% better than PATHAAN which did record numbers. The other pockets also saw huge growth but obviously not as much as the multiplex dominated centres. The mass circuits have gone back to day one levels or near and that was crucial.

The film is heading for an insane weekend although the number will depend on how the big cricket match affects the film. The match may limit the growth of the film on Sunday but it can always recover some of this lost business post the weekend.
