DREAM GIRL 2 is a HIT film as it collects 2.75 crore nett on its second Monday and takes its overall total to 85 crore nett. The hold on its second Monday is good with a 40% drop from a slightly boosted Friday. The second week is heading for a solid 27-28 crore nett and the film is likely to cross 100 crore nett.

The film has been pushed by the Raksha Bandhan period as there was a fall on its first Monday. But that good weekday period ensured good collections from Tuesday to Friday and this was followed by the second weekend. The results are much lower than the first DREAM GIRL but that was expected as this thing of male leads playing females or wearing bras is not going to work like it did pre pandemic as there is a bigger box office contribution now outside the metros. The male mass in Hindi speaking circuits audience which drives films like GADAR 2 are not interested in this sort of stuff and they are the drivers of big box office numbers.

DREAM GIRL 2 working this much is more than good enough for this content and the industry gets its fourth HIT in a month. Where the franchise stands is open to question as the business will be 20-25% less than its predecessor.
