Wamiqa Gabbi, who earned rave reviews for her performance in the web show Jubilee, is “thrilled” about her first commercial Hindi film, director Atlee’s next Hindi production starring Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh. “Atlee is known for his crazy commercial films,” says Gabbi, confessing that she had been waiting for long to do a “full-on commercial Hindi project”.

The yet-untitled film, helmed by Tamil director Kalees, is referred to as VD18 and is slated to release next year. Without taking the lid off her character, the 29-year-old adds, “I am looking forward to working with Varun and Keerthy. Varun seems like a ball of energy and that’s my vibe, too.”

While Gabbi had a small role in director Kabir Khan’s 83 (2019) and has also shot for filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya, she hopes with the Jawan director, Atlee’s film, she would be seen in a different light. “This movie will have a huge impact when it comes to reaching the masses,” she signs off.
