GADAR 2 held up well again on its third Monday with 4.75 crore nett taking its total to 456 crore nett. The film is faring better than the new release DREAM GIRL 2 in many pockets and may well do better than the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer over the Raksha Bandhan period on all India basis as well.

The 500 crore nett mark is there for the film and its just about how much higher it goes. Records have been smashed at a theatre and circuit level at many places just like  GADAR - EK PREM KATHA in 2001. The lower numbers are from South where it will stay lower than BRAHMASTRA (Hindi only) which was just 225 crore nett at an all India level.

But the South business was always going to be lower as Hindi mass films have always done lower numbers. Even if we go back in time films like SHAAN, THE BURNING TRAIN and QURBANI fared better than the likes of KRANTI, SUHAAG and LAAWARIS despite the latter lot being bigger blockbusters. For South, the Hindi films have to have a richer look and that has always been the case. GADAR 2 remains unstoppable in the core states for Hindi films.
