ADIPURUSH scored another good day with collections similar to the first day as Mumbai made gains while Delhi/UP was flat and most other circuits made minor losses. The drops mainly came in single screens of around 10-15%. The gain in Mumbai is because on Friday, the Gujarat area especially Saurashtra area was hit by a cyclone which meant final collections came in lower but there was recovery on Saturday. The multiplexes, be it nationals or non nationals, were flat or made minor gains on Saturday.
Irrespective of what is being said the collections are very good and its going to cross the business of KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN, which had an Eid weekend, in just 3 days. Obviously it remains to be seen what happens over the next few days but the fact that a film can put up these numbers in the box office scenario today with this sort of negativity is a good news for theatrical business.
Surprisingly, the film has held well in Nizam/Andhra and although the collections are down to 20 crore nett from 36 crore nett, this is very good trend for this circuit. The release structure is such that day two has less cinemas but if we look at some like to like collections from day one to day two its around 30-35% drop. This is better than a lot of big Telugu films released over the last two years.
The two day collections of the film are as follows.
Friday - 35,00,00,000
Saturday - 35,00,00,000
TOTAL - 70,00,00,000 apprx
The all India collections of the film look to be 76 crore nett on Friday and 59 crore nett on Saturday for a two day total of 135 crore nett.
