The Tamil film PONNIYIN SELVAN - PART 2 held up well on Monday due to it being a holiday in most of the southern states for Labour Day including the main market of Tamil Nadu where the collections were pretty much similar to the first day.

The film has collected 54 crore nett in four days in Tamil Nadu. The top grossers in the state are the Pongal releases THUNIVU and VARISU with 89 crore and 109 crore respectively; it should beat these two films. PONNIYIN SELVAN - PART 1 is at 172 crore nett and is the all time record in the state and that is a tough task due to the weekend being less.

The collections of the film in Tamil Nadu are as follows.

Friday - 12,75,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 13,25,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 15,50,00,000 apprx

Monday - 13,00,00,000 apprx

The all India collections of the PONNIYIN SELVAN - PART 2 are at 93 crore nett. The film will cross the 100 crore nett mark in five days and can target 200 crore which is a rarity for Tamil films.

The film has seen huge overseas results which should come in at around $10 million in 3 days and this ensures a huge worldwide total. The immigration of Tamilians in recent years not only from India but from Sri Lanka has seen the overseas market really jump for this industry.
