Salman on OTT: This nudity, gaali galoch should stop

HINDUSTAN TIMES (April 8, 2023)

Recently, at a press conference, Salman Khan spoke in favour of censorship on OTT, mentioning how ‘clean content’ always works better. The actor said, “I really think there should be censorship on the medium... All this vulgarity, nudity, gaali galoch (swearing) should stop. Kids as young as 15 or 16 watch them (OTT projects). So, the content on OTT should be checked. Jitna clean content hoga, utna behtar hoga, viewership uski zyada hogi.”

Khan added that bold sequences in web projects also put a limit on the kind of actors who get opportunities on the medium, as some artistes are not comfortable doing bold scenes.

Taking a dig at actors who have shed their inhibitions on screen, the 57-year-old said, “You have done it all — lovemaking, kissing and exposing scenes. And when you enter your (home) building, your watchman has also watched your work. We don’t need to do that... Hum Hindustan mein rehte hain. Thoda bahut theek hai, lekin beech mein itna zyada ho gaya tha (referring to nudity and abusive language in web projects). Ab thoda control mein aaya hai.”

Amid death threats, Salman buys bulletproof car
Given the death threats he’s received in the last one year, Salman Khan was provided with a Y+ security cover. Now, as a safety measure, the actor has purchased a bulletproof car. Since the SUV car he’s bought isn’t available in India, Khan has imported it. The vehicle comes with B6 and B7 level of protection. While B6 makes the occupants sage against high-powered rifle with a 41mm thick glass for ballistic protection, B7 protects the passengers from armour-piercing rounds with 78mm thick glass.
