Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, Zwigato and Kabzaa Box Office Collection Day 1!
Box Office India Trade Network

MRS CHATTERJEE VS NORWAY has done decent business on day one as it picked up around 1.25 crore nett on limited screens. It was a similar release to release to UUNCHAI which opened at around 1.60 crore nett on opening day. But this film is even more of a niche film than that and is made at one third of the cost.

The film did very well in West Bengal as it had excellent collections in Kolkata probably due to the female protagonist being Bengali and the popularity of Rani Mukerji in the this belt. The film collected more than 21 lakhs nett in West Bengal and this is more than what SELFIEE and SHEHZADA did in this circuit.

The film is safe in terms of economics as its total cost has been covered by satellite and digital but a decent theatrical performance can only come through sustaining at the box office and for that it is a must that Saturday jumps up big.

The other release ZWIGATO could not do much as it collected around 20 lakhs nett. The film featured Kapil Sharma but was not a comedy and some sort of social drama and a comedy star is never going to bring anybody into the theatres in this zone.

There was another dubbed release this week, KABZAA, which had a huge release which would be around 1500 cinemas plus as it released on the single screens but the collections were not much. The film was also released on special discounted rates but that was never going to help. The collections of the Hindi version may go to around 50 lakhs nett depending on where the mass circuits land. The film is from Karnataka where it did around 7.50 crore nett here which is decent but more was expected. It collected around 1 crore nett in Andhra. The all India collections of the film will be around 9.50 crore nett.
