Though actor Arjun Rampal has been doing films intermittently over the last five years, he is looking forward to a “hectic” 2023 as far as his filmography is concerned, with six releases slated for the coming months. “Two of them are ready and the rest are almost complete,” says Rampal, who was recently felicitated by Passang Dorjee Sona, the Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

In a two-decade-long career, the Dhaakad (2022) actor has played diverse characters — from a romantic role in Dil Hai Tumhaara (2002) and a villain in Om Shanti Om (2007) to a musician in Rock On!! (2008). 

The model-actor says he likes to transform into the characters he plays on screen, but the talent of the director matters too: “People thought I wasn’t fit for Raajneeti (2010), but (director) Prakash Jha felt I could play someone like Prithvi (his character in the film). If other people (directors) aren’t talented enough to have that foresight, I can’t help it.”
