Actor-couple Shilpa and Apurva Agnihotri are proud parents to a baby girl after 18 years of marriage. The couple, who have adopted the child, shared the news on their social media accounts with a picture yesterday. In an exclusive chat, Shilpa said, “I always had a dream to get married and become a mother to a little girl. However, we had to wait for 18 years to become parents. We wanted to be parents a long time ago, but it took a while and we are very happy today.”

She added, “Our parenting duties have started and we are enjoying this phase of waking up at night and putting our baby back to sleep. We have named her Ishaani because it is another name for Goddess Durga and Goddess Parvati. We feel extremely blessed.”

Apurva shared, “Ishaani was born on October 14 and she is God’s gift to us. For the last 18 years, while we were happy to be just the two of us, at the back of our minds, there was a desire to become parents. After a long journey, our dream has finally come true.”

Apurva is loving his new role and is carrying out his daddy duties efficiently. He added, “Ishaani is not at all cranky and I love feeding and burping her. I believe that things happen when they are meant to happen and 2022 has been a great year because now we are three. I would like Ishaani to grow into a tough girl and get into adventure sports like her daddy (smiles).”

Both Apurva and Shilpa are enjoying every minute with their baby girl. The couple shared, “We are grateful and blessed. We’ve always had gratitude for whatever God has given us and that has doubled now.”
