AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER had a huge first week of almost 190 crore nett and held up pretty well over the weekdays even though the drop on Monday was there. The film is comfortably in double digits on the last day of the week despite a huge contribution from the South.

The South had phenomenal collections over the weekend and so it looked like these markets will drop off more on the weekdays. But the trend has been strong strong though by Thursday the Hindi circuits were giving 55% of the business and Mumbai circuit and finally went ahead of Nizam/Andhra in terms of daily collections.

The story of the film is the extraordinary collections in Nizam/Andhra which are at 45 crore nett in the first week, that is, 10 crore more than AVENGERS: ENDGAME and there is more to come. The business on Friday should confirm that the film is a BLOCKBUSTER in India and it will have two holiday weekends to get to the 300 crore nett mark or close. It will not do the AVENGERS: ENDGAME business ias there is a huge difference in Hindi circuits and no matter how big South goes, it cannot cover the difference.
