AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER did very well on Monday collecting around 18.75-19 crore nett which takes the film to a huge four day total of 146-147 crore nett. The drop on Monday is a little over 50% but that is fine because collections are at such a high level.

The business continues to be dominated by the southern circuits as they have higher collections than the Hindi circuits even on Monday. Nizam/Andhra continues its phenomenal run and in just four days has become the highest grosser outside South films beating AVENGERS: ENDGAME and BRAHMASTRA.

The film has dropped around 50% in Mumbai and Delhi/UP which is good though it could have been a little better. It is still good enough for a good run for a few weeks. The first week should go to around 185-190 crore nett but a lot depend on Nizam/Andhra. This circuit is still contributing almost 30% when the norm for Hollywood from this circuit is 10-12%. So the falls here will determine where the week goes.

The first four day collections of AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER are as follows.
Friday - 40,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 40,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 47,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 18,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,46,25,00,000 apprx
---------------------------------------
AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER has beaten the lifetime records of AVATAR (2009) all across barring Mumbai circuit in just 3 days and Mumbai will be beaten in four days. As can be seen by the numbers below AVATAR (2009) was phenomenal in the South while AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER has gone even further. The 30 crore nett plus number in Nizam/Andhra is just extraordinary.

The performance in Hindi circuits is lagging but here also AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER has beaten AVATAR by pretty much similar margins as in South. Its just that the 2009 film was far bigger in South. AVATAR (2009) grossed 54 crore nett apprx in the South and the same amount in Hindi circuits.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER has grossed 67.50 crore nett in the South and 60 crore nett from Hindi circuits. The business of AVATAR (2009) was done over a long time as it remained in cinemas for a year and then there were repeat runs including a major one a few months ago and the numbers below include those repeat runs.

The three main circuits of South (Nizam/Andhra, Mysore/Karnataka and Tamil Nadu) all scored over Delhi/UP in 2009 and that has been repeated again with AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER as the three big South circuits record higher collections again. But with this holiday period having far more importance now in Delhi NCR, it could be that Delhi/UP eventually goes ahead of Mysore/Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
