There have been two senior actresses with the name Veena Kapoor and this has caused a lot of confusion in the past few days. The wrong Veena Kapoor’s picture was used online by someone while writing about the murder. Since then, she and her son have been getting calls and messages.
On Thursday, the actress, who is currently seen in the TV show Ajooni, approached the Dindoshi police to complain against unknown persons for spreading rumours about her death. “If I don’t complain now, it will continue to happen to others. It is mental harassment,” she said, adding that her son was being humiliated on social media because of this.
Later in a video, she said, “The mental torture that’s happening with repeated calls, day and night, and even while shooting ruins the mood. I’m also unable to focus on work.”

MY POST CAUSED NO CONFUSION: NILU KOHLI
Hasti Doshi (BOMBAY TIMES; December 17, 2022)
Actress Nilu Kohli has interacted with both the actresses. In fact, she had put up a post for the deceased Veena Kapur. However, now some people are blaming her for causing the confusion. Nilu says, “The Veena Kapur I was talking about on my Instagram was the one who met with a tragic end. I had worked with her on the TV show Bhabhi and I was in touch with her until two years ago. What happened was very sad and shocking.”
She further added, “People on social media are saying that I have gone crazy and have put up a post regarding someone who is alive. I want to tell them that there are two actresses with the same name, just their surnames are spelt differently. Somebody carried a wrong picture online, which caused the confusion. I hope people have now understood what exactly happened.”
