There have been rumours about Disha Vakani, better known as Dayaben from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, suffering from throat cancer. Her brother, actor Mayur Vakani, however, refuted the rumour saying, “It’s not true. It’s bad to even talk about these things. These are baseless rumours, why pay attention to them? I have nothing more to say on this.”

After being a part of TMKOC for nine years, Disha took a break from the show to embrace motherhood in 2017. She was blessed with a baby girl in the same year. This year, she became a mother for the second time and delivered a boy in May.

While her fans have been waiting for her return to the TV show, there is no clarity on her comeback yet. There are rumours that the makers have auditioned a few actresses to step into her shoes to play the new Dayaben.
