The dubbed Hindi version of the Kannada film KANTARA grossed around 1 crore nett on its first day as this film also picked up a little in the evening especially in Maharashtra. The original Kannada film had done very well in Hindi circuits breaking the record of KGF - CHAPTER 2. So there were expectations of better results and it also got 1200 screens with good demand from exhibitors.

This film has racked up 60 crore nett in Karnataka since release with 22 crore nett coming in week one and the second week is a sensational 38 crore nett in just five days. The film has amassed 40 lakh footfalls in its run till date.

These collections are still pretty good for a dubbed South film especially a Kannada film which despite the success of KGF - CHAPTER 2 still don't hold much value for the Hindi audience as can be seen by the failure of other dubbed Kannada films outside the KGF brand. Also the wider Hindi audience is a different monster altogether compared to regional and South markets.

Mumbai circuit led the way with collections of 40 lakh nett plus and the usual areas which do better for dubbed films like CP Berar and Odisha. CP Berar did better than East Punjab as most of it is in Maharashtra while Odisha was the top performing circuit in East when it normally would do one third of West Bengal. KANTARA (Hindi) should show growth today but its fate will depend a lot on the weekdays and more importantly how well does Maharashtra take to the film. The likes of Delhi, Punjab, UP, Rajasthan etc will be a struggle.

CODE NAME TIRANGA had very dull collections of 15 lakhs nett as the lower concessional rates failed to bring an audience and this lead to collections being very low as it never got extra footfalls at the rates it should have got. There is little hope with such low numbers
